In a video that has gone viral on social media, the General Overseer of Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo was heard lamenting bitterly and describing the coronavirus pandemic disease as an anti-church virus.
According to the the 65 year old, the Coronavirus disease is a strategy of the devil and his human agents to stop the growth of the church all over the world. In his words ;
”Coronavirus is nothing but anti-church virus. Now, freedom of worship is no longer a constitutional right. It is now determined by certain individuals. This is no longer coronavirus, at least in two states- Lagos and Ogun, this is anti-church virus. Caution must be exercised. Can anybody silence the church? Never. I have never heard of anybody that got healed in the market but God heals people in the church day and night. We have recorded 114 coronavirus healing testimonies, we got 10 this week. And that is the place that is vulnerable and not the market.

patrickspeaking wrote “Remember this is the richest pastor in the world, black or white, local and international – of course he knows the ‘value’ of going to church”
olumide_babs wrote “If you aren’t discerning enough, you’d think his church is the only place of worship affected in the country.. This new narrative can’t fly…Majority now know wassup.”
thevenusfairy wrote “So embarrassing. Anti-church lol. The world stopped because they don’t want Nigerians to go to church. Oga rest abeg”
mustaphacupid_edochie wrote “There are reports of an incoming second wave and we are still talking about social gatherings? Pastors should understand that where TWO OR THREE ARE GATHERED IN HIS NAME, HE IS THERE…. Shebi na dem still talk am?!”
seunt_reacts wrote “I don’t like this man. They closed schools, closed clubs, closed mosques, but you think it is an affront to say churches be closed too. Somebody needs to let these pastors know the church is a religious organizations answerable to the State. The “prophets and the Priests” are not superior to the government. Churches and Mosques around the world were closed, oga. Carry your problems to Jesus in prayers if you feel oppressed.”
